Buying your favorite music is one of the joys of life. But did you know the impact of MTV and VH1 really boosted America's love of everything music? In the 1980's cable was born and MTV, originally intended to be promos for albums, had an enormous impact on music and young people. MTV spurred the sales of music CD's through their broadcast of music videos. Dances learned on MTV included slam dancing, lombada, and break dancing. Music video fashion was also closely watched and imitated. A few years later VH1 entered the music video scene. Targeting a different group of listeners than MTV, VH1 has added to the popularity of music, music videos and the purchase of music CDs. Today, both MTV and VH1 have added other programming, along with music videos, to their broadcasts. Programs on these stations now include game shows, music awards, fashion awards, special concerts and chronologies of entertainers prior to their fame. In the past few years the Internet has also played a part in the popularity of music. The ability to have access to your favorite music for free has caused major concern for songwriters and artists. Downloading your favorite music has become just as popular as shopping for a music CD in your favorite music store. Despite the "convenience", this format has not replaced the physical or online store. Having access to artist release dates, music videos, gifts or accessories the stores provide, you get a complete picture of what's available to you. So have fun when you check out ReviewMusic.info for information about buying CDs, videos or merchandise from your favorite entertainer. Copyright 2001 |
