Cooking With Kids

Learning Treasures

Welcome to the world of art for children. Children can create the most wonderful things given just a some odds and ends, scissors, glue and glitter! My goal is to bring simple yet creative crafts that children can make. I hope also to explore the world of art through not only crafts but painting, sculpture, needlework and more. Join me and my children won't you?

Silly Putty
by Belinda Mooney

1 TBS. Liquid starch
Food coloring
2 TBS white glue

1. Mix glue and food coloring together.

2.Pour liquid starch in a small bowl. Slowly pour glue mix into liquid starch.

3.Let sit for 5 minutes or until glue absorbs the starch.

4. Remove from bowl and knead it. (Squeeze it, smush it, push it around A LOT!) The more you do this the better it will be.

5. Store in Easter egg or ziplock bag

You can stretch it, bounce it and use it to lift off newsprint.
