Use this experiment to explain the earth's layers to your children.

An Edible Model of the Earth

1 large marshmallow
a peppermint candy
toothpick
1/4 c chocolate chips
small pan

Cut a small slit into the marshmallow and stick the peppermint in the middle. Put the marshmallow in the toothpick. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or in a small pan over low heat. Dip the marshmallow in the chocolate covering it. Set it on wax paper to cool.
