Orange and Lemon baskets
by Belinda Mooney

Smells as good as they look!

Orange and Lemon Spice Baskets

These little baskets are as much a feast for the nose as they are for the eyes! Try using limes too!

You will need:

Lemons and oranges.
orris root (available from your pharmacy
Different spices: cinnamon sticks, peppermint, anise, whole cloves, lemon verbana, etc

You will need to cut out the fruit into the shape of small baskets. To do this picture your orange being divided into 4 quarters. In the top quarters cut out a wedge from each side leaving a "handle".

Now carefully scoop out the fruit and pulp. Make sure you remove it all. Dust with Orris root twice a day for 1-2 weeks to preserve them. (They will only last 3-4 days otherwise.)

Fill each basket with a different spice and hang on the tree. the heat from the lights will also help release the scent of the spices.
