Magnificent Monoprints
by KidsActvities

Use liquid starch to make stunning silk screen affects by fingerpainting!

Monoprint with fingerpaint

Use: Liquid starch

Powdered paint (in flour shakers)

White shelf paper 9" by 12" or larger

Pour a small amount of starch on the work surface; shake on color and mix with hands. Children create designs with fingers.

Help them press paper onto their design to make an imprint. You may do this two or three times with the same piece of paper using a different color for each addition.

The result is a superimposed picture with a silk screen appearance.
