Make a Button Bracelet by KidsActivities Need something to do with grandma's old button jar? Here is a fun craft idea.

Fun way to use those old buttons sitting around.

Materials needed:

One piece of elastic cord, 10 inches long

Lots of shank buttons Scissors

1. String a button onto the cord. Leave it about 3 inches from the end of the cord. Tie a knot around the button's shank.

2. Keep stringing on more buttons. Tie each one on with a knot. If the end of the cord becomes too frayed to use, just clip off the end with the scissors.

3. As you get close to the end of the cord, loop the bracelet around your wrist to measure it. Stop when the bracelet is long enough to fit loosely around your wrist.

4. Tie the two ends of the cord together to form the bracelet.

5. Cut off any leftover cord.

Editor's NOTE: You could also do this with regular buttons by weaving the elastic up through on from the back and down through the next hole.
