Tempera Batik by Beth See the neat affect of Batik art on consturction paper using tempera paints! The effects will amaze you!
A simple easy-to-use program that is loved by parents, children and teachers alike! www.HookedOnPhonics.com Tempera Batik Grades:K - 6th grades Materials: chalk Procedure: Draw a chalk picture on constructionpaper. Use thick chalk lines. Make shapes of your drawing largeand simple Paint inside the chalk lines. Use any color but black.Don't paint over the chalk lines. Leave spaces between colors.Let painting dry completely. When dry, use gum eraser or tissuesto gently wipe away the chalk lines. Pour waterproof india inkinto a shallow dish. Use a sponge brush to gently cover thepainting with one coat of ink. Don't overlap brushstrokes. Letink dry for 30 minutes. Then hold painting under cool water in apan and gently rub away ink. Set your painting on newpaper todry. The ink sticks to the painting in some places, just likebatik!
